Most of the power supply circuits of the electrical equipment of the American crossover are protected by fuses. Powerful current consumers are connected via relays. Protective elements are installed in mounting blocks located under the hood and in the passenger compartment.
Information on the diagrams is relevant for the Ford Explorer (U152) 3rd generation 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 models.

Relay box
Also in the passenger compartment on the passenger side there is an additional unit with relay modules. It is located behind the rear side trim panel. To access it, you need to remove the trim panel.
