Below are the detailed fuse box diagrams and relay assignments for the Kia Optima / K5 (fourth generation; JF chassis) covering model years 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021.
Here you will find the locations and photographs of the power distribution boxes. Fuses for the “Cigarette Lighter” and “Fuel Pump” are highlighted in bold for quick reference.
In the engine compartment
Depending on the vehicle trim and equipment package, the engine compartment contains one or two fuse boxes.

Auxiliary fuse box
Equipped on models with diesel engines.
Description:
- 80A – Glow plug relay block;
- 40A – Fuel filter heater relay;
- PTC HEATER – Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) auxiliary heater.
Main battery fuse link
Located directly on the positive (+) battery terminal.
Integrated 180A main alternator fuse link (ALT).
In the passenger compartment
The interior fuse box is located behind the access panel on the lower driver-side dashboard. Configuration varies depending on model year and options installed.
