Fuses and relays Volkswagen New Beetle (A4), 1998–2010

VW New Beetle was produced from 1998 through 2010 in hatchback and convertible body styles. During its production run, the model received a mid-cycle facelift. The Beetle features a front-engine, rear-luggage-compartment layout. This guide provides detailed fuse box diagrams, relay locations, and circuit assignments for the Volkswagen New Beetle (chassis codes 1C, 1Y, 9C; A4 / PQ34 platform). The cigarette lighter fuse is highlighted in bold.

Fuse and relay configurations may vary depending on the vehicle's model year and equipment level. If you encounter any discrepancies, consult an authorized dealer.

Auxiliary Relay Box

An auxiliary relay box is located under the hood on the plenum bulkhead.

This panel may contain the secondary air injection (SAI) pump relay or glow plug relay. The turn signal and hazard flasher relay is integrated directly into the hazard light switch. The radiator cooling fan control module is mounted on the left longitudinal frame rail beneath the battery.

Battery Fuse Box

The fuse box is integrated directly onto the battery cover.

It contains both standard blade fuses and high-current fusible links.
