Compared to the previous LS400 model, the new LS430 sedan, introduced in 2000, was redesigned by almost 90 percent in all components. The car's exterior became more expressive and less comparable to the standard, which, of course, was the Mercedes S-Class. Although the overall length of the body remained the same, the car became taller, the wheelbase was increased, and the rear overhang was shortened. The chassis was tuned for tighter and more responsive handling. The new engine has been increased from 4.0 to 4.3 liters, has significantly higher torque, and meets the most stringent European emission standards.
