In 2008, the aging Xsara Picasso compact MPV was replaced by the new Citroën C3 Picasso, which features more compact dimensions and belongs to the subcompact MPV (mini MPV) segment. The vehicle was initially unveiled in Paris as the Drooneel concept. Like the standard C3, this new MPV is built on the PSA PF1 platform. Sales of the model in Russia commenced in the spring of 2009.
