The Renault Vel Satis (chassis code BJ; B platform) is an executive car produced from 2001 through 2009. A specially customized version was notably used by the President of France. This series was produced in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.
This manual provides information on fuse and relay box locations, panel diagrams, and circuit assignments. The fuse protecting the “cigarette lighter” circuit is highlighted in bold.
In the Engine Compartment
The fuse box is located on the left side of the engine compartment under a protective cover.

In the Passenger Compartment
The main fuse box is located on the left side end of the dashboard.
Fuse No. 24 (15 A) protects the cigarette lighter circuit.
An additional fuse/relay box is located on the passenger side behind the glove compartment.
An additional fuse panel is located on the center console beneath the ashtray.
It protects the following circuits:
- Audio unit / car radio,
- Diagnostic socket (OBD-II / DLC),
- Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) ECU,
- Navigation system ECU,
- Seat position memory ECU,
- Climate control (HVAC) ECU,
- Multi-function display (clock / exterior temperature / audio status),
- Central communication unit,
- Alarm system
