The eighth generation of the Toyota Hilux pickup appeared in 2015. The change of generation affected not only the appearance of the car, but also the technical component: Hilux received a completely new frame, suspension with changed characteristics. The exterior has undergone significant changes, from the head optics with LED strips to the smoothed contour of the arches, the new shape of the taillights and chrome bumper trims. In the cabin, more attention was paid to the quality of the finish and ergonomics. New powertrain options have appeared in the engine lineup. For example, in the Arab countries, a new 2.4-liter turbodiesel of the GD series, in addition to the "mechanics", offers a super-intelligent 6-speed automatic transmission to the engines inherited from the previous generation.
Most of the power circuits of the electrical equipment of the Japanese pickup truck are protected by fuses. Headlights, fan motors, fuel pump and other powerful current consumers are connected via relays. Protective elements are installed in mounting blocks located in the passenger compartment and under the hood.
