The second generation of the S40 sedan made its European debut in late 2003 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The model is built on the P1 platform, which is nothing but the global C1 platform developed by Ford's European center (on the same platform Focus II and Mazda3 were created in 2003). 1. Remove the trim by first sinking the pins in the retaining pistons and then pulling them out.
2. Remove the two screws holding the unit in place.
3. Pull the fuse box halfway toward you.
